Cap.Space Trade Machine

MLB Trade Simulator

Pick two clubs, click the players and prospects you want to move, and the simulator matches the surplus values — what a player is worth on the field minus what he is owed. Majors and minors both count.

How to read it. Value is surplus value in millions: projected on-field production over a player's remaining years of control, minus the money still owed him. A cheap young star has a huge number; a good player on a market-rate deal sits near zero; an overpay goes negative. Owed is the total remaining commitment; '26 is this season's actual salary and AAV the contract's average annual value, both from Spotrac. Minor leaguers carry value with no salary attached.

v1 values are sourced from BaseballTradeValues.com while Cap.Space's own valuation model is built. Ours will be projection-driven — $/WAR by tier, aging curve, arbitration ladder, and FV-grade prospect curves — and will replace these.
